1929-1939 Archives
Early issues of The Transmitter issued between 1929 and 1936 were intended primarily for internal company distribution. These early issues contained a mix of service related stories and employee tidbits, including service anniversaries, birth and wedding announcements, “capture club” updates, jokes, humor, etc.
Beginning in 1937 The Transmitter was reformatted. It was given a magazine-style front page, and distribution was expanded to include subscribers to the company’s services and public safety officials. Also, starting in 1937 content was changed to include more subscriber related stories, and fewer employee announcements.
