The Capture Club
The first fifteen years of My ADT/Tyco career were spent in the Central Station. I spent time working in three different Central Stations: Philadelphia, Baltimore and Camden. My remaining thirty-five plus years were spent in the corporate engineering department.
During my years in the central station the company had a program in place that would reward an ASIs (we called them guards back then) whenever they responded to a burglar, holdup or emergency alarm where one or more bad guys were captured. The reward was $15 per capture, up to 5 captures per incident. The program was known as The Capture Club.
Recently, a discussion on the ADT Memories Facebook page indicated that some point an enhancement was introduced to the Capture Club program to provide enhanced recognition to those offices and guards with the most captures over the course of a year. The new program was called The Capture Club Award Program.
Never having heard of the award program my curiosity was aroused. I decided to research my collection of old ADT newsletters to see what, it anything, I could learn about the program. Not a lot of information was available, but I did uncover a few interesting facts, which I summarized in a brief article.
